Commercial AV · Houston
Conference rooms built around the meeting—
not the equipment list.
Obsidian AV designs boardrooms, huddle rooms, training spaces and presentation rooms where speech is clear, content sharing is predictable and support does not begin with guesswork.
Our point of view
The system is planned around the meeting and the people using it.
We begin with who joins the meeting, what they present, which platforms they use and how support should recover the room when something changes.
Microphone coverage, loudspeaker placement, acoustic behavior, DSP and echo cancellation are designed together so local and remote participants understand each other.
Camera framing, display size, sight lines, USB routing, wireless presentation and guest-laptop access are matched to the room.
The normal startup, source selection, volume, mute and reset functions are kept obvious and repeatable.
Designed as one system
The room, the infrastructure and the interface have to agree.
Beautiful performance comes from hundreds of decisions working together. We pay attention to the pieces people see and the engineering they never should have to think about.
What gets considered
Performance lives in the details.
Room workflow
We begin with who joins the meeting, what they present, which platforms they use and how support should recover the room when something changes.
Audio intelligibility
Microphone coverage, loudspeaker placement, acoustic behavior, DSP and echo cancellation are designed together so local and remote participants understand each other.
Video and content
Camera framing, display size, sight lines, USB routing, wireless presentation and guest-laptop access are matched to the room.
Control and reset
The normal startup, source selection, volume, mute and reset functions are kept obvious and repeatable.
Infrastructure
Power, cabling, switching, ventilation, rack space and remote service are planned before equipment is mounted.
Documentation
Drawings, labels, configuration records and support notes keep the room maintainable after commissioning.
The Obsidian standard
Built to perform.
Built to live with.
We do not treat the finish line as “equipment powered on.” The job is complete when the experience feels natural, sounds right, and can be supported after the installation crew leaves.
